What the Lord has been doing recently through your partnership!

It’s with great gratitude and excitement that I write you this prayer letter.  What the Lord has been doing this summer has truly been extraordinary and it’s not even over.  Recently, we preached in an African church with amazing results.  You could sense the presence of God while I was preaching one of my favorite classic gospel messages “The secret to the power of the blood of Jesus”.  Many people would shout with joy spontaneously as I boldly proclaimed Jesus Christ.  Can you imagine that before I even finished giving the invitation for people to receive cleansing and protection through the blood of Jesus, people JUMPED to their feet and came running forward to receive from the Lord!

The power of God fell in a dramatic way in Rock Lake!  Jesus healed people’s backs, legs, delivered others from depression.  Can you believe that the power of God hit the congregation in such a dramatic way that practically every person collapsed because of the presence of Jesus.  Jesus is amazing!

Then we went to the United Filipino church where again precious souls were saved and bodies healed.  I’ll never forget one precious teenage girl who accepted Christ for the very first time and felt the power of God.  Her life will never be the same.  The testimonies of people’s lives changed for eternity goes on and on!  Thank YOU a million times over for your faithful prayers and financial support.  This ministry only exists because of good people like YOU who take action in prayer and giving.  Please watch the video bellow to see and feel the amazing response to salvation when I gave the invitation in the African church.

The Prayer Connection

Many today speak of prayer as “a price to pay for God to use them.” A price to pay? That sounds like a heavy burden nobody wants or could possibly carry. The good news is that Jesus paid the full price with His own blood over 2,000 years ago. Today, prayer is not a burden, but rather a privilege. Prayer is extremely important. But if Jesus has already provided for everything on the cross, why pray? What is prayer, really? What does it have to do with miracles? And how can you practically enjoy the privilege of prayer every day?

Billy Graham once said that if he had to do it over again, he would spend more time in prayer and less time preaching. He said he would take more time worshipping the Lord and telling Him how much he loves Him.”

I’m very grateful for the wonderful upbringing my parents gave me. They raised me in the church and taught me something about prayer. Many of you can relate to mealtime prayers. There was a specific prayer we said before every meal that went something like this: “God is great. God is good. Let us thank Him for this food. By His hand we are fed. Give us Lord our daily bread. Amen.” I remember one day as I was saying the prayer, I asked myself what these words really meant. In and of itself, the words are good. However, it was a ritual, and prayer is so much more than just repeating words.

Simply put, prayer is relationship with God. This is actually our first priority in life. Before our jobs, ministry, or even family, our purpose first and foremost is to enjoy communion with God.

Jeremiah 9:23-24 says, “Thus says the Lord: ‘Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,’ says the Lord.”

The word “know” in the Hebrew is yada which means “to know experientially or to have intimacy.” (Brown, Driver, Briggs and Gesenius. Hebrew Lexicon entry for Yada` “The NAS Old Testament Hebrew Lexicon”) God wants you to know Him experientially. Think about buying a brand new car. You can read about the new car. You can watch TV commercials advertising the car. You can even think about the car in your mind. However, if you really want to experience a new car, you must test drive it yourself. In a similar way, if you really want to know God experientially, you must do more than listen to a few messages and go to church. You must have a supernatural revelation of Jesus. That can only happen as you spend time with God in prayer.

Many people ask why there aren’t more miracles in our churches. I believe that one of the reasons is that we have to get to know God before we can be used by Him. As it says in the Bible, “but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.” (Dan. 11:32) Moses understood the privilege of prayer. Psalm 103:7 says, “He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel.” Moses wanted to actually know God while the children of Israel knew only His acts—they were just satisfied with the miracles. God is looking for people who want to know Him intimately. The more you get to know God, the more miracles you will see. This is my personal testimony. I’ve discovered the more I have gotten to know God and have spent hours with Him in prayer, the more miracles began to manifest in my life and through my ministry.
