It was about three years ago that I first arrived to the coast of Colombia to preach the gospel.  Some friends of mine took me sight seeing one day to see the football stadium in the city of Santa Marta.  It was so exciting.  I thought to myself, “now this is where I would love to announce the good news.”  I still remember sitting in the car when I heard the Holy Spirit whisper to me, “one day you will preach the gospel there.” It blessed me so much, but almost immediately it was like a bucket of cold water was thrown on the idea when they told me how difficult it was to have a crusade there.  They told me of a well known preacher who tried to hold a crusade there a number of years ago and failed.  I thought to myself, “Well, maybe in ten years we can think about having a crusade there, but not now.” God was about to blow my mind.  The Bible says:

“He is able to do exceedingly abundantly ABOVE all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” Ephesians 3:20.

Jesus makes the impossible become POSSIBLE.  Just a few days ago God gave me the humble privilege of preaching the precious gospel of Jesus Christ in THAT VERY SAME FOOTBALL STADIUM.  Some said there were 16,000-20,000 people there.  Only God knows the exact amount.  What a mighty God we serve!

Santa Marta is the capital city of the province Magdalena on the coast of Colombia. It was founded in July 29, 1525  which makes it Colombia’s oldest city with a population of about half a million people.  It’s most known for it’s beautiful beaches and is a favorite location for tourists. A strategic location for a Gospel Festival.

The sound of the crowd praising Jesus was unforgetable!  Something like in the book of Revelation when it says “the sound of many waters.”  The message I preached was a simple but powerful gospel message that pointed the crowd to Jesus and what He has done by his love for all people.  The Holy Spirit’s presence was tangible.  When I gave the invitation there were hundreds, if not thousands that ran to the platform surrendering their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ.  It was a holy moment.  I remember turning to one of our team members and saying, “This is what it’s all about.  Life does not get any better than this!”  It even began to rain but the people didn’t budge.  They were so hungry to receive from Jesus.

Next, I encouraged the people to look to Jesus not only as their Saviour, but also as their Healer.  Jesus not only took their sins on the cross 2000 years ago, but He took their sicknesses as well.  Then, I asked the sick to place their hand on the sick part of the body where they needed healing.  After the healing prayer was made, the platform was flooded with people eager to testify how Jesus confirmed the gospel in their lives through healing their bodies.

One particular girl who could not see well or read due to an eye disease, testified how she had been completely healed because of the power of Jesus.  She demonstrated to the crowd by reading a portion of scripture.  Joy irrupted like a volcano.

Another lady was carried to the stadium due to cancer in her body that left so weak she was unable to walk on her own.  After hearing the gospel message, faith came into her heart and she received healing from Jesus.  She demonstrated her healing by walking unassisted on the platform.  The power of the gospel never fails. Thank you partners. -Andrew
